Papaver orientale 'Princess Victoria Louise'

Oriental Poppy

Long prized for its immense rich salmon-pink flowers, 'Princess Victoria Louise' is among the most familiar of the many poppy cultivars around. The satiny blooms of this striking perennial are one of the highlights of the late spring and early summer garden. Remarkable not only for their size and hue but also for their crinkled tissue-like flowers, the glorious bowl-shaped flowers open from large globose buds atop tall prickly stems. The foliage dies back in early summer, re-emerging in fall.
